The two curators of the exhibition “El Rector de Vallfogona: auge, declivi i retorn d’un mite nacional”, Albert Rossich and Marc Sogues, will offer a commented tour at the exhibition that invites to discover the surprising career of the most important Catalan baroque writer and one of the most loved characters of our popular culture. A trip through reality and fiction, through fame and oblivion, that finalizes with the great return of Garcia at the actuality, with the movie of the commemoration of the fourth centenary of his death, an ephemeris that had permitted to rediscover the great literary value and the heritage of his legacy.
After the tour, Albert Rossich, one of the top experts on Garcia in our country and curator of the edition, will present the two first volumes of the Complete Poetry of Francesc Vicent Garcia (Vallfogona’s Rector). Published by Editorial Barcino, of the Fundació Carulla, nowadays the first and second volumes are available and its plan to publish the third soon.
In the first volume, there is a compilation of sonnets and ten-line stanzas, while the second contains the other metrical forms (romances, quintets, quatrains, etc.). In this way, the publication of the complete original works of a central figure in Catalan literary history is completed — a body of work that has captivated generations with its intelligence, inventiveness, and creativity.
