The art made by the families of sculptors set in Manresa like Grau, Sunyer, Generes, Ribera or Vidal, reached different places of the country, specially in the Center of Catalonia. These artworks, even if some of them had disappeared throughout history and we only know about them through photos and documents, are a testimony of a large ans spectacular heritage. The lecture will value the work of the different authors and the art they made in the Terres de Ponent region.
The lecture will be presented by Joan Yeguas i Gassó. Doctor of Art History by the Universitat de Barcelona, and curator of the area of Renascence and Baroque Art of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. His field of research is the art of Early Modern Age (XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries) with special attention in the sculpture present at the ancient Aragon’s Crown territories.
