The conference will offer a tour around the works that the Generalitat de Catalunya has acquired for the Baroque Museum. The acquisitions include some of the most representative names of Catalan Baroque such as Viladomat, Juncosa, Savall or Tramulles among many others.

The talk will be given by Francesc Miralpeix i Vilamala, PhD in Art History from the University of Girona. He has been full professor of the history of modern art at the same university since 2010, where he has worked since 2001. He was director of the doctoral program in human sciences and culture (2010-2011) and is a member of the committee It is part of the Institute of Historical Research of the same university, from where it directs, in collaboration with the University of Perpignan, the collection of monographs on art and heritage Histoire de l’art / Història de l’ art.

As a researcher he has specialized in the artistic manifestations of the Baroque period. His studies around the work of Antoni Viladomat are particularly relevant.
