The Museu del Barroc de Catalunya hosts the presentation of the International Day of Museums program in the city of Manresa.
Next May 18, we celebrate the International Day of Museums, the most important event organized by the International Committee of Museums (ICOM) since 1977. Around this date, museums around the world organize different activities for all audiences and open their doors for free. The focus of the celebration day is to raise interest among visitors and citizens about the importance of museums in the development of society.
In the first floor of the Museu del Barroc, has been presented the schedule of activities that have been prepared by all the Manresa museum facilities: the Museu de l’Aigua i el Tèxtil, the Museu de la Seu, the Valentí Masachs Geology Museum, the Santuari de la Cova, the Carrer del Balç Interpretation Centre, the Manresa 1522 Space as well as the Baroque Museum and Manresa Museum.
The designed program offers activities from May 17 to 19. A weekend full of attractive proposals for all audiences around diverse themes such as science, art, technology or nature through a wide range of activities, from open doors, guided tours, family activities, concerts, gastronomy, etc.
In the case of the Museu del baroc, opening hours will be extended from 10 am to 10 pm and entry to the museum will be free. Among the scheduled activities, the family proposal Rebel·lió al museu stands out, as well as the Claustre musical with the Brossa Quartet, who will perform contemporary pieces with a baroque perspective. In addition, a food truck will be installed in the cloister and will offer food and drink, as well as tables and chairs to rest on.
